- Huge baking potatoes
- Cabbage and cauliflower with a bit of soil still in between the leaves
- Carrots and parsnips, oddly shaped and with mud attached
- Celeriac, broccoli, beetroot, all as nature intended
It's like looking at the grocery shopping from 30 years ago - real food, not the clean, trimmed, identically-bland, shrink-wrapped stuff that the supermarket sells. We already get all our meat from a good local butcher, and I think we will order from these people again, every week. Good food, local suppliers supported, and food miles as low as you can get.
Tonight - cauliflower cheese, with fresh local cauliflower, local cheese, and topped with slices of hard-boiled egg, from the girl in the vets who keeps free-range chickens.
Can't wait.
That's the way to do it.
ReplyDeleteMmmm. It was great.
