So, there will be 200 new patrol vehicles to replace the Snatch Land Rovers that so many of our troops have died in.
It's nearly ten years since the Army said that the Land Rovers were not adequate for the conditions in Iraq and Afghanistan. Suddenly, a day after his appearance at the Chilcot Enquiry, when he cast the blame for military under-resourcing onto his generals (who, not surprisingly, disagreed with his It Wasnae My Fault analysis), our Dear Leader makes a 'long-arranged' visit to Afghanistan and announces that the new vehicles will be procured "within weeks" and made available by late 2011.
Do they think we are completely stupid?
