Brown says that he supplied the Army with everything they asked for.
Top people in the Armed Forces publically disagree and say he is being "disingenuous".
Gordon Brown uses troops as a photo-opportunity the day after his evidence to Chilcot.
And now, there is to be a 'news blackout' of anything concerning the war for the period leading up to the election.
This means that:
- British journalists and TV crews will be banned from front line reporting
- Senior officers prohibited from making speeches or talking to reporters
- MoD websites "cleansed" of any non-factual material, including the views of troops.
Along with many other bloggers (Subrosa, Fausty, Leg Iron and others), I will publish any material from the military, family or friends during the election campaign. Email address at the top of this blog.
Well said! That this blackout emanates from the Gorgon is all the more infuriating.
ReplyDeleteI hope it backfires.
I think it will. And then (looks around him) maybe it won't. People will do as they are told. But you've got to try.
