Strangely silent ...

Harold Camping's Family Radio website, which heretofore had been full of his predictions that the world would end yesterday, has nothing to say on the subject.

I've been there, had a good look, but I can't find any reference to what was billed as the most important event for the last 7000 years.

Odd.

  1. The Family Radio site is down - I get "403 Forbidden" So maybe the chosen ones have been taken after all?

Talking of Family Radio I remember it from my Shortwave listening days. They were one of the loudest voices on the bands, and knowing they used plenty of 250/500Kw transmitters, they must have been particularly good at extracting money from their followers to pay the electrickery bill...

  2. That's strange. I was fine at 4 pm when I posted this, because I went and had a good rummage. But now I get the same error message. The site was unavailable for most of the weekend - unavailable as in can't load the page - but I assumed that was because of the world-wide interest in seeing what the fuss was about. Perhaps they are busy formulating a reason why, despite all the certainty, they are still here. I seem to remember that the Chosen Ones would be 'raptured' straight to heaven, while the rest of us would be destroyed over the coming months. Perhaps they were right all along, but were not as Chosen as they thought?

  3. Or maybe the snide bastards are right - they're already enjoying the afterlife, and we will soon start dropping like flies...

  5. I was at work over the weekend, too. I wondered for a moment if it was a wise idea to spend my last moments on earth at work, but then I thought about it and decided that I was looking forward to the ride home, and that if it happened that would probably be the time. So I put the kettle on.
