Seasonal Quiz

Here's one for you pub quiz fans:

Name two dates from English history:
  • One where everyone knows the date, but not the year, and

  • One where everyone knows the year, but not the date.
  • 1605

  • 14 October.
You can tell I am work, can't you?

  1. 14th October will make most people think of the Battle of Hastings in 1066, but you might be referring to 1947 when Chuck Yeager was the first recorded person to fly faster than the speed of sound.

1605 would have been the Gunpowder Plot. You chose the wrong week to ask that one....

  2. Correct on the Battle of Hastings. As for 1605 - well, I did say it was a 'seasonal' quiz!
