I read somewhere that dogs have no sense of time or the future. If you go, you are gone, and they have no idea that you will come back, or when. Hence the panic.
Bonkers Dog was never very sensible, but recently he has been very panicky, barking in distress if you even walk out of the room. I had to leave him at the kennels this afternoon, and leaving him there was pretty hard to do.
Weird! It has the same effect on me, too!
