Regular readers will know that I am passionately opposed to wind turbines and the corrupt Green vandalism that has foisted these useless excrescences on some of our most beautiful and lonely landscapes. Via Tory Aardvark, here's a video which makes the point from a different angle.
WARNING: Raptors were harmed in the making of this film.
Thanks for publicising your find, Richard.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that the Bat Conservation Trust seem ambivalent.
They state that "...... you will be committing a criminal offence if you:
Deliberately capture, injure or kill a bat."

Yet, they have to wear their 'green' credentials.
It seems that it's OK to prevent a motorway being build, 'cos it 'might' "Damage or destroy a bat roosting place (even if bats are not occupying the roost at the time)"; yet they seem reluctant to ban wind farms despite scientific evidence that the loveable little creatures do get killed.
Couldn't have put it better myself, Joe.
ReplyDeleteAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!! bastards!
ReplyDeleteHeh. Yes.
ReplyDeleteThe 'new generation' of windmills use neodymium in their gearboxes to 'improve efficiency'. This is mined in China where it creates lakes of toxic effluent 6 miles wide. Not very green for the Chinese...

The rare metals is an argument that I have heard, and which appals me, but I don't often use it as I have very little understanding of the chemistry involved. But I have seen pictures of the lakes of poison in China associated with their production, and I just can't see how the Greenies can support it. Hypocrisy, I suppose - no surprises there.
