Why Ed Balls is the Man for the Job
In the comments over at Guido's place (and his comment of the week) is this gem from 13eastie:

I caught a glimpse of Ed Balls on telly today and he seemed to be back on form. Oddly, he is emerging with something approaching credit for trying to sack Sharon Shoesmith (who had managed to tie up a contract they couldn't get out of) and for at least trying to save dinner lady Carol Hill at Great Tey VC school.
ReplyDeleteNaturally, as Carol was only in the right, carrying out child protection and merely an hour-a-day lunch worker, she got shafted.
So Ed wasn't very effective in what he did, considering it was in 2009 and he should have been able to kick some sense in to Essex cc.
Ed Balls in a nutshell - incident occurs in 2009, comes to public notice in 2011, Ed Balls springs into action.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm pretty much on my own here, but I think the way he acted over Sharon Shoesmith was disgraceful bullying of the worst kind. I'm not defending SS, but she needed dealing with through the proper channels, not by some ministerial oaf insisting on her summary sacking on the news channels.
The man is a loathesome toad with a Borstal haircut. Nuff said.
