If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.

Please, say it isn't so ...

This ...

One of Tony Blair’s most fervent supporters could hardly contain his enthusiasm at the prospect of the former Prime Minister becoming the first president of the European Union. “Imagine what it would be like,” he said. “Tony arriving at the UN in New York or negotiating with the Chinese in Beijing. Who else would stop the traffic like he would?”

So Britain's celebrity-mad ex-Prime Minister, war-criminal, liar and hypocrite, is likely to become the unelected head of a federation that no-one asked us if we wanted to be part of?

And he's not going to be dragged off to The Hague to answer for the deaths of 100,000+ Iraqis, 179 British soldiers, and David Kelly?

I despair. I really, really despair. If there is one reason to de-ratify the Lisbon Treaty, this is it.

  1. Think on the bright side - it could have been Neil Kinnock....

  2. Fingers crossed for the Irish. Or failing that, the Czechs holding out until summer.
I'm still of the opinion Mandelslime is only back in Britain to make sure Labour stay put until it's too late for us all. Even if that destroys Labour in the process. Well, it's not like he's demonstrated any principles or loyalty that would suggest he'd hold back from sacrificing absolutely anything for personal gain.
The Federated European Superstate would be bad enough all on its own, but getting Bliar back as part of the package is pretty close to unendurable. Obviously, unelected president is how he would have wanted it. It's safer that way. One can only hope that he emulates some of the Kings of old, and dies of a surfeit of hubris before assuming the throne.
Or that Declan Ganley pulls a miracle out of the bag.
