The Good Doctor is wasting no time in getting a review of defence, and a rethink of the previous government's shameful attitude to the armed forces, on the table.
ID cards, databases, and now defence.
I'm liking this bunch more and more. Let's hope they keep up the momentum.
So far, so extremely good.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can tell, between them they've pretty much agreed on all the policies I actually wanted, and dropped all the ones I didn't. Fingers crossed that this could be - at last - a genuinely progressive government with some coherent and worthwhile ideas to enact.
I do believe there was mention of reducing numbers of speed cameras and CCTVs, too. Because it isn't only the big things that matter, sometimes it's small freedoms that count the most.
You're back! The comments boxes were missing you.
ReplyDeleteGood trip?
Thank you, and yes - fantastic trip.
ReplyDeleteTotal distance: just shy of 2000 miles, with most of that covered in 5 of the 8 days. Weather: variable, with snow in the mountains, rain in France and sunshine in Italy. Some beautiful mountain roads (we kept hopping over the Alps into France, Switzerland and Italy just to ride the downhills) attacked with varying degrees of ferocity. Met some great people, had some delicious food, caught a little bit of sleep and hit the road again...no major dramas for anyone and the Versys performed superbly as a tourer. Oh, and Biaggi took both Superbike races.
I'm still grinning about it all now.
I'll try and put some photos on Facebook this weekend.
Great stuff. I have just had a weekend communing with Eurobikers, and will write a bit about it on the other blog. I like your 'grinning' remark. One the way there and back this weekend, I smiled all the way. Genuine, happy smiles. I'll check FB in due course.
