If you owe the bank £1000 and you can't pay it back, you've got a problem.
If you owe the bank £100,000 and you can't pay it back, the bank's got a problem.
I don't know if, or how, that is relevant at the moment, but it might be.

Debt Bombshell
Thanks to The Captain, here's a nice reassuring website detailing the small matter of the debt bequeathed to us by Gordon Brown.
I'm watching it, mesmerised. Very soon it will turn over to one trillion pounds.
That's £1,000,000,000,000.
One thousand, thousand, thousand, thousand pounds.
One million million pounds.
Thirty-five grand for every person in this country who actually works.
We're in debt, our children are in debt, and our grandchildren will still be paying this off when we are pushing up daisies.
All for the sake of Labour's dream of a client state. No retribution for this state of affairs would be just. It's horrifying.
